Hi there Friends of Redland Region,
Here's a few items of interest for those that enjoy a visit to the countryside.
Redland Riot Road Rallye

Mark your calendar for Saturday, January 20 to attend the annual Redland Riot Road Rallye, a fruity tropical history tour through the countryside.

Initiated by Robert Burr in 1992, the whimsical Redland Riot Road Rallye is described as a fruity tropical history tour of South Florida's Redland farming region.

It's a time-honored, delightful diversion for the whole family, held on the third Saturday in January. A trip to the countryside searching for goodies brings Redland Rioters to a number of wonderful locations that represent the off-the-beaten-history-path of South Florida.

Families and friends participate as teams in their cars, gathering at Cauley Square at 10am. Each registered team ($10 team admission) receives a map and driving directions, along with some cryptic questions to answer along the way. It's a type of scavenger hunt for clues, while discovering all these unique places in Miami's bountiful countryside.

Along the way, there are plenty of goodies to enjoy while learning a bit about local history. After Cauley Square, teams visit Burr's Berry Farm, Redland Ranch, Phil's Berry Farm, Knaus Berry Farm, Redland Country Market, Fruit & Spice Park, R.F. Orchids, Curbside Market, Hotel Redland, Florida Pioneer Museum and Robert Is Here fruit stand. The road rally ends at Schnebly Redland's Winery and Brewery at 5pm.

The winning team with the most correct answers wins a prize package worth less than one million dollars!

Kids: Frozen Movie plus Meet & Greet

Can it snow in Miami? This January, Frozen returns to the big screen at the Seminole Theatre. Bring the whole family to re-experience the movie (and if you feel like singing along, we’re okay with that). Make sure to come early for a chance to meet a real life Anna and Elsa in the Seminole Theatre lobby.

When their kingdom becomes trapped in perpetual winter, fearless Anna (Kristen Bell) joins forces with mountaineer Kristoff (Jonathan Groff) and his reindeer sidekick to find Anna’s sister, Snow Queen Elsa (Idina Menzel), and break her icy spell. Although their epic journey leads them to encounters with mystical trolls, a comedic snowman (Josh Gad), harsh conditions, and magic at every turn, Anna and Kristoff bravely push onward in a race to save their kingdom from winter’s cold grip.

The event starts at 2pm in the lobby. Movie begins at 3pm. Anna and Elsa will come take pictures after the movie.

Tickets are $8/advance, or $10/at the door. Kids, Seniors and Military get $2 off. Tickets are also available at the Seminole Theatre Box Office 786-650-2073. The Seminole Theatre is located at 18 N. Krome Ave in downtown Homestead.
