Gather friends to experience a friendly artists' reception for the "Birds" exhibit at the Capri Restaurant. If you can't make the event in person, tune in on Facebook at 5:30pm for a live preview. The Capri restaurant is located at 935 North Krome Ave in Florida City. Call 305-247-1542.
Vaccination Events at Harris Field

Vaccination Events at Harris Field

The City of Homestead, in cooperation with the Florida Department of Emergency Management, will be offering second-dose Pfizer vaccination events at the FOP Lodge at Harris Field, located at 675 North Homestead Blvd. Each day, there will also be 100 Johnson & Johnson vaccines available for individuals 18 years of age and older who have not yet been vaccinated. No appointment is necessary.

Bring the family to Phil's Berry Farm to enjoy free local Bluegrass Music by Pine Country starting at 1pm. As always, there's plenty of free parking and no entrance fee. Bring your own lunch or purchase hot dogs and pizza, long with a delicious milk shake -- and don't forget the cinnamon pastries. While at Phils' take a tour of the Tropical Fish Farm established in 1950. Phil's Berry Farm is located at 13955 SW 248th Street. Call 305-905-2284.

Authentic Smoked Delights at The Taproom

Meet up with friends at Miami Brewing Company Tap Room on Wednesday and Thursdays to enjoy the Dickson's Smokehouse BBQ Food Truck's delicious smoked specialties -- like bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers -- from 5 to 9pm. Perfect to enjoy during the Kill A Keg Happy Hour starting at 4:30pm featuring $4 beers until you Kill the Keg. The Taproom also features DJ Devious Remix on Wednesday starting at 6pm (no reservation required). South Florida Youth Symphony

South Florida Youth Symphony

Enjoy two unique concerts, including a world premiere, highlight the historic appearance by the Emmy and Gold Medal-winning South Florida Youth Symphony at the Seminole. SFYS will present two free-to-the-public concerts at 1 and 4pm in the organization’s first Homestead appearance. The 1pm Kids’ Concert is family-oriented and will feature show tunes, movie themes and an always-popular instrument demonstration. The 4pm Grand Season Finale performance is more classical in nature and will feature a world premiere piece 2021 by harpist Yuuri Harper-Rosenberg, as well as solo student performances by Heily Rivas (Double Bass) and Gianluca Nagaro (Violin). With vocals, guitar, banjo, and a wealth of traditional folk songs and historic images, musician and historian Matthew Sabatella weaves an engaging narrative that tells the story of how Americans pushed westward throughout the nineteenth century. The journey begins in Colonial America and follows the path of sailors, pioneers, immigrants, '49ers, farmers, soldiers, cowboys, homesteaders, and railroaders who moved the country across the continent and into the twentieth century. The Seminole Theatre is bringing back their annual summer camp – with a twist. For the second year in a row, they'll host a smaller more intimate cycle theatre style summer camp. Cycle plays have been around for hundreds of years, and involve performers keeping their distance in separate rooms to tell the same story together in sequences. Castellow Hammock Preserve & Nature Center

Castellow Hammock Preserve and Nature Center

Castellow Hammock is a 112-acre park and preserve that contains a mature tropical hardwood forest with a half-mile self-guided nature trail. The park was named in honor of James S. Castellow, a citrus farmer who homesteaded the property in the early 1900s. In 1974, the park became one of the first environmental education centers in Miami-Dade County and is popular with birders, butterfly watchers, and botanists.
