Independence Day Drive-In Celebration

The City of Homestead will host their July 4th Drive-In Celebration at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Parking gates will open at 7pm and the fireworks show will begin at 9pm. Guests are encouraged to pack dinner, snacks, and drinks to enjoy while hanging out with family and friends. Beginning at 8:30pm, Radio Station 100.3FM will broadcast music and announcements before a special address by Homestead Mayor and City Council before the dazzling display of pyrotechnics synced to a mix of pop hits and patriotic tunes begins at 9pm. Ballet & Beyond artistic director Karen Hirst Kennedy presents Alice in Wonderland, a story ballet in two Acts, telling the tale of Alice in her home with her sister and tutor. An exciting rendition of the tumultuous journey of a young girl’s imagination Alice in Wonderland, this performance will delight children and adults alike, danced by the professionally trained Ballet & Beyond dancers at the Seminole Theatre, Friday, June 11th 6:30pm and Saturday, June 12th at 1pm and 6:30pm.

Job Fair at the Community Center

The City of Homestead has partnered with local employers to host a Job Fair at the Phichol Williams Community Center. Attendees will have the chance to meet with local employers with current openings, including the City of Homestead. The Job Fair is the result of a partnership between the City of Homestead, Homestead Community Redevelopment Agency, and Homestead Station QALICB. This new "Concert On The Lawn” experience was specially pre-taped for this special presentation. Make sure you bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets to enjoy the show. Visit their Taproom before the show for delicious artisanal beer and a pre-show live performance by Thought Monkey, starting at 5pm. Limited tickets are available.

Though at times we can’t see the forest for the trees, woodland habitats are made up of so much more than trees alone. From the fungus in the soil to the animals in the canopy, we’ll be learning about what makes a forest a forest, and how even just being in the woods can make us happier. Let your child explore the wild side of Castellow Hammock Park & Nature Center with this nature-based camp packed with fun and educational programming. Camp Hummingbird offers children the opportunity to experience and participate in a wide variety of activities in a safe, supervised, and well-organized natural setting. Fathers' Day Boat Tour From Deering Estate

On Fathers' Day, enjoy a pontoon boat tour on the Pelican Island Skipper, a 45-foot Corinthian Catamaran, guided by a Deering Estate visitors services staff member who will educate passengers on birds, sea mammals, Native Americans and early pioneers. This trip departs from Deering Estate at 1pm and return at 4pm for a three hour, catch and release fishing trip. It is encouraged for guests to bring their own rods and tackle. Bait will be provided and a limited number of rods.

Enjoy the Blue Grass Music of Pine Country Band at Phil's Berry Farm from 1 to 3pm. There is no entrance fee and plenty of outdoor tables for a family picnic. First Annual Art & Artisan Show

First annual HCA Art and Artisan Show

Enjoy an artful shopping experience indoors at the Events Banquet Hall on Campbell Drive, featuring hand-crafted items by local artists and artisans. Enjoy nice music, tapas for sale, and a cash bar; all intended to make this a leisurely, fun shopping experience. There will also be a 50-50 and a Chinese raffle with items from the vendors.
