Saturday, November 15 at 4pm Country Walk Book Club Attend this Book Club for adults at Country Walk Library to explore a variety of genres from mystery and historical fiction to memoirs and more. Enjoy lively discussions, discover new faves, and connect with fellow book lovers in a welcoming environment. This month's pick is The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware. In this tightly wound, enthralling story reminiscent of Agatha Christie’s works, Lo Blacklock, a journalist who writes for a travel magazine, has just been given the assignment of a lifetime: a week on a luxury cruise with only a handful of cabins. The sky is clear, the waters calm, and the veneered, select guests jovial as the exclusive cruise ship, the Aurora, begins her voyage in the picturesque North Sea. With surprising twists, spine-tingling turns, and a setting that proves as uncomfortably claustrophobic as it is eerily beautiful, Ruth Ware offers up another taut and intense read in The Woman in Cabin 10 -- one that will leave even the most sure-footed reader restlessly uneasy long after the last page is turned. Call 786-293-4577 or email: imbimbog@mdpls.org. Ages 19 years and older. Get details online. |

Thursday, November 20 at 9:30am Oppose Zoning Changes in Redland The Stop Redland Rezone group opposes Citinet Aventura LLC and Redland Grove LLC's Application Z2025000020, which requests five major variances -- including zero parking for 30 units -- that will generate 1,380 daily vehicle trips on local residential streets near SW 220-226 Street designed for agricultural and low-density use. This 138-unit development contradicts Miami-Dade's Comprehensive Development Master Plan for agricultural preservation, violates established zoning standards without justification, and creates documented pedestrian safety hazards on roads lacking adequate infrastructure. We urge the Board of County Commissioners to deny this application on November 20, 2025, to uphold countywide planning policies and protect community safety standards. Get details online. |
