The Dade County AGRI Council in collaboration with UF/IFAS Extension Miami-Dade County, Miami-Dade County Agricultural Manager, Dade County Farm Bureau, Florida Nursery and Landscape Growers Association and Farm Credit would like to invite you to participate in the 55th Annual Agricultural Farm Tour and Luncheon scheduled for Friday, February 23, 2018 from 8am to 3:30pm.
Each year, the tour stops at different agricultural operations to showcase the diversity and uniqueness of farming in the subtropical climate of South Florida.
This annual tour features a cross-section of local agricultural production sites in order to introduce the public to the Miami-Dade agricultural community. In addition, the luncheon honors local pioneer families or individuals as a means of documenting the history of their contribution to agriculture and the economy of the Miami-Dade County. This year the event will be honoring Steven Kirk with Rural Neighborhoods, formerly as the Everglades Community Association, and Everal Miller, agriculture teacher, with William H. Turner Technical Arts High School.
The tour and luncheon are $50 per person. The luncheon only is $30 per person. Lunch will be at the Everglades Housing Group Community Center.
Please RSVP to Lize at 305-248-3311 x 242 email: lluna@ufl.edu or Patty x 225 by 5pm Friday, February 16.
