Celebrate Homestead’s leadership in Environmental Stewardship.
The Eco Fair brings together groups and individuals who celebrate the wonderful environment we share. Live animals, guest speakers, children’s activities, music, food, a slice of farmer’s market and more.
The Kiwanis will have their, “Just One Book” giveaway with children’s books. Miami-Dade County residents will be able to exchange three old light bulbs for energy saving compact fluorescent light bulbs and exchange up to two water-wasting shower heads for water efficient models thanks to the Miami-Dade County Extension Office.
Also, Homestead Public Services Energy division will be there to discuss energy efficiency, energy rebates, free home energy surveys, the surge protection program, and their own light bulb exchange (maximum of three incandescent bulbs for CFL’s per family).
Where else can you have fun for free and maybe learn about costs savings for your home?
If you’ve never heard of the weekend National Parks Trolley Service, this will be a great time to find out about this popular service.
There is no charge and there is plenty of free parking a short stroll away at the Municipal lot on Washington Ave behind former Stick & Stein.
