
Learn detailed information about limes and carambolas in this beginning level class at the Extension office auditorium from 9am to 1:30pm. Basic tropical fruit horticulture like pruning, planting, fertilizing, and pest control, as well as other issues new growers face will be covered. There will also be a field visit to look at these particular crops.
The cost is $15 to $18.

Topics covered include: effect of climate and weather on plant growth, relevant botanical information, flowering signals, grove infrastructure, cultivars, propagation, plant spacing, cropping strategy, plant nutrition and fertilization, irrigation, management, pruning and size control, plant growth regulators, harvesting, insect and disease pests and control, disorders, and strategies to survive environmental stresses (e.g., hurricanes, floods).
