Mardi Gras and Carnivale are coming to South Dade! Kick off the celebration with the family at the Seminole Theatre with a special screening of Disney’s “The Princess and the Frog.”
Come at 1:00 pm to join our kid-friendly Mardi Gras party where you can design your own mask and even have a chance to meet the real life Princess Tiana. After the movie, stay downtown Homestead for the annual Carnivale & Flavors of the Caribbean featuring authentic New Orleans Sound Band, a Junko Dance Group and Caribbean food and, as usual, the event will be headed up with a “fun and lively” Carnivale Parade.
A modern day retelling of the classic story The Frog Prince. Set in New Orleans, The Princess and the Frog finds the lives of arrogant, carefree Prince Naveen and hardworking waitress Tiana crossing paths. Prince Naveen is transformed into a frog by a conniving voodoo magician and Tiana, following suit, upon kissing the amphibian royalty. With the help of a trumpet-playing alligator, a Cajun firefly, and an old blind lady who lives in a boat in a tree, Naveen and Tiana must race to break the spell and fulfill their dreams.
Tickets are $8/advance — $10/at the door. Kids, Seniors, and Military get $2 off.
