Tropical Beekeepers AssociationThe Tropical Beekeepers Association meets on the second Tuesday of each month at City Church in Homestead at 7pm.

Jennifer Holmes is a UFIFAS Master Beekeeper, Senior Welsh Honey Judge, Co-chair of Slow Food Gold and Treasure Coast, and current President of the Florida State Beekeepers Association.

Jennifer is passionate about honey bees and all pollinators. Providing Native forage and an edible landscape in her apiaries and maintaining honey bee colonies in community gardens for the bene-fit of pollination and educating others about keeping honey bees, is held foremost in her activities.

She continues this path with her Husband and Children through their family business, Hani Honey Company, supplying Local Retailers, Markets, Farms, and Shows with Honey, Products from the Hive, Pollination Services, and Honey Bee Education.

The beekeepers are a non-profit organization dedicated to educating and sharing the importance of honey bees and their critical importance in the natural world. Beekeepers of all levels are welcome to join their mission to raise awareness and conserve South Florida’s honey bee population.

Whether you’re a newbie or seasoned beekeeper, you’re welcome to attend the meetings, which are free for members and $10 donation for guests. Annual membership is $35 per household.

Please bring snacks, finger food, fruits or sweets to share.

Need beekeeping equipment? We have gloves, smokers, bee brushes and many more items available at the meeting.
